Every Summer since 2000, an elite group of students from the Wayne State University are chosen to participate in a study abroad program with The Moscow Art Theatre School, facilitated by Professor James Thomas. The accredited program consists of an intensive four-week training program taught on-site in Moscow. The training comes directly from the faculty members of the Moscow Art Theatre School.
A program not only for actors, but also for directors, the experience provides all who partake with first-hand experience of the Stanislavsky system of acting from master artists-teachers at the Moscow school.
The program also features practical work experience, lectures, field studies in Moscow theatres and other sites of historical theatrical interest.
While this year’s group was quite large, next year’s group will be strictly limited to 18 participants. For more information, contact Professor Thomas.
